This is a masterful expression of the Kaku-Seigaiha design motif. Original Seigaiha (wave) pattern was an organic expression of the flow of water. Over time, following improvements in dyeing technology, this pattern became stylised. Today still, the wave (seigaiha) is more conservative than the more modern square wave (kaku seigaiha) designs. The heavy wool and silk mix will last a careful lifetime of wear, or many lifetimes framed.
